Neil Young "greendale (film)"
＊「試写会のチケットが手に入ったので、見てきました。Nヤング翁、DEVOと撮ったやつ以来だからほぼ20年振りの劇映画作品。まず驚いたのが会場である吉祥寺バウスシアター前に並ぶ人々！人数が多いとかそういうことではなく、なんともインパクト大きめな人々がズラリ。目の前に並んでいたイイ顔系の初老の男性はBOSSジャンをお召しになっていて、正にジャパニーズ・リアル・Nヤングといった装い。これは魂（ソウル）。ネルシャツにハットに髭というNYコスプレのステレオタイプな出で立ちのシルバートラクターが似合いそうな中年男性も注目度大といったところ。これは形（スタイル）。そんな、気合いの入った懲りないメンメンはとにかくツラがどれも個性的で良かったです！
会場に入って、そういえばCDの”greendale”を聴いたことが無いなーなんて思っていたら、受付でもらったチラシの裏にNYからのメッセージとして「もちろん、どの街でも、どの国でも、オーディエンスはみんな、昔の曲や、ヒット曲を期待して会場にやってくる。なぜかというと、TVとかメディアに誘導されているからさ。～（中略）～新しい作品についてはほとんど関心を示そうとしないし、たとえば僕のオーディエンスはみんな”孤独の旅路”を聴きたいと思っているはずだ、という前提で番組を作り上げていく。」と、書いてありました…ごめんなさい！NY…。
そんなNYの言葉にうたれた僕は、うわっついた気持ちを引き締めてスクリーンに向かいました。内容はCD”greendale”に映像をつけたというもので、言ってみれば長いPV。松本零二とDAFT PUNKの"インターステラ5555"みたいな感じ？？チラシ情報によると「環境破壊、マスメディアの問題、ホワイトハウスや大企業への批判も厭わない反骨精神、そして未来を担う若い世代への希望…」なんてキーワードがつらつらと…。
見終えると、NYのそのキラキラした瞳が未だダイヤモンド(DM)のように光り輝いている事がわかり、ちょっと胸が熱くなります。なんだ、NYは"Rockin' In The Free World"のPVからちっとも変わっちゃないんだ…と本気で思わせてくれるような映画です。彼はみんなから愛されていて、こんな映画を作れてしまう所が凄い。極東の島国の試写会にネルシャツwithハットのイイ顔系を集めてしまうところが凄い。兎に角、ニール･ヤングという人物の器のベラボーさが不思議な角度から眺められる映画です。
観客の撤収の手際がやけに良くて、みんな妙な余韻と眠気を残しながら動かずにはいられないといった感じで出口へと向かう中、明るくなった館内に流れたのは"My My, Hey Hey"。まんまとメディアに誘導されてしまっている僕なんかはバウスシアターのはからいに思わずニヤリ（NY）▼
